How to Edit Your Products in Canva (Even If You’ve Never Used Canva Before)

If you’ve just purchased one of our customizable invitations, activity sheets or other products, we’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’re planning a cozy sleepover or a full-blown birthday bash, these customized products set the tone for the magic to come.

This quick-start guide will walk you through how to edit your products in Canva, even if you're completely new to it. No graphic design degree required, we promise!

✨ Step 1: Open the Canva Link

After your purchase, you’ll receive a link to access your editable file. When you click it, it’ll prompt you to either log into your Canva account or sign up for a free one.

Tip: You only need the free version of Canva, no paid subscription is required.

✨ Step 2: Make a Copy

Once the design opens, select "Use template" so you’re working on your own personal copy. This keeps the original file safe and gives you full editing control.

✨ Step 3: Customize the Text

Click directly on any text box to edit the party details. You can change things like the name, date, time, location, and RSVP info.

Tip: Want to change fonts or colors? You totally can! Just use the toolbar at the top of Canva.

✨ Step 4: Save or Share

When you're happy with your edits, you have a few options:

• Download as PDF for printing (select "PDF Print" under file type)

• Download as PNG or JPG for texting, emailing, or posting digitally

• Copy a link to share the invitation online (great for private messages or parent group chats!)

Tip: All of our invitation are sized 5x7, which is standard for printing and easy digital use. All of our activity pages are for printing on a standard sheet of paper, though cardstock is preferred for durability.

✨ Step 5: Print (If You’d Like!)

Want to print your invitations? You can:

• Use a home printer and cut them to size

• Upload to a print service like Staples, FedEx, or Walgreens

• Print on cardstock for a more polished look

Tip: 5x7 invitations fit in A7 envelopes, which you can find at most craft stores, box stores, or online

Q: Can I edit on my phone?

Yes, Canva has a mobile app! It’s a little easier to edit on a computer, but it absolutely works on your phone too.

Q: I made a mistake, can I go back?

Of course! Use the Undo arrow in the top toolbar or return to the original link to start fresh with a new copy.

Q: Can I reuse the invitation for a future party?

Absolutely! Just revisit your Canva account, make a duplicate, and change the party details. It’s yours to use again and again.
